Companies can now expense the cost of new utility vehicles in the year of purchase.
The Senate has passed HR5140 the Recovery Rebates and Economic Stimulus for the
American People Act of 2008. The bill almost doubles the value of the Section 179
expense perk, allowing businesses to deduct as much as $250,000 of qualified
expenses in 2008, with the phase-out threshold for that perk rising to $800,000. The idea
is the incentive will give business more of a reason to purchase equipment or finance it.
Before, the deduction was limited to $128,000 worth of expenses in 2008 and the
phase-out was $510,000. Also, the stimulus package makes the business depreciation
provision more valuable, allowing a company to depreciate an additional 50% of the
cost of an asset bought in 2008.
It appears the stimulus is good for 2008 and the equipment that qualifies is the same as
the current requirements. It will be of benefit to businesses in 2009.
Fleetwest Introduces 8 New Transferable Service Bodies.
|
04/10/08 - Fleetwest has 8 new transferable service bodies. The Load'N'Go line
recieved 2 new products and we have added a new line of 6 fiberglass
transferable service bodies called the DURASHELL.
The Load'N'Go line received 2 long awaited, new transferable service bodies,
the Load'N'Go Lowboy and the Load'N'Go Powerbody. The Load'N'Go Lowboy is a
Light weight, lower profile Load'N'Go designed to fit 1/2 ton pickups and the
Toyota Tundra. It features large side compartments with a nice looking Diamond
plated lid and optional, redesigned, parts pull out drawer in the back. The
Load'N'Go Powerbody is a Load'N'Go with a Kick! It features a Generator,
compressor and optional welder, with the control panel mounted in the side
compartment. Many of our customer said that the first thing they did to their
Load'N'Go was to install Generators, compressors and welders as separate
components. We asked several companies for a solution that would combine these
components and a company called Air-N-Arc filled all requirements as well as
reasonably priced.
The DURASHELL line is a culmination of requests from our customers for a
fiberglass insert, which is reasonably priced, an interior that is easily upfitted by
the customer, utilizes the more stable Load'N'Go jacks, forklift tunnels in the floor
for easier transferability, a universal fit which does not require an install kit and 2
new service bodies which fit light duty pick up trucks to maximize fuel millage.
